It was like Christmas in August, as we ventured out to Santa's Workshop while camping in Woodland Park this past month.
We even had an early gift, as Uncle Mike flew out from Florida and decided to join us on our camping trip.
We all enjoyed having Uncle Mikey with us and the kids enjoyed showing him all the ropes of camping, since he hadn't been in awhile. Roasting marshmallows was definitely a hit!
We enjoyed an afternoon in Manitou Springs at the Penny Arcade,
lunch at a quaint cafe,
and a stroll through the springs.
We so enjoyed Uncle Mikey's visit and our camping trip. It was a great way to end our summer, before we head back to all our activities for the fall.
Ella asked to play soccer this season and is really enjoying it. It had been at least two years, since she had played last and has really started to understand the game better. She likes playing Goalie, but isn't afraid to run after the ball either.
Ella took part in her first camp this last month as well, Horse Camp! She was so excited each and every day to spend her afternoon with the horses. She not only was able to ride with other girls, but really enjoyed cleaning the stalls and runs, and being able to feed and water the horses. I had never seen her so excited to clean before!
We have really enjoyed our summer with our Castle Rock Homeschool group. We all take time each week to meet up and the kids do amazingly well together. I have never met such a wonderful group of kids and Mom's! We are glad that with all this warm weather, we'll be getting more time to play with our friends through the start of the school year as well.
We are in full swing of activities and school for fall! We are adjusting to the busy schedule, as we now add Eric's activities to our calendar this fall as well. Life keeps us hopping!
